# Credits and billing

> What uses credits, how to add more and where to follow usage.

Your organization shares a single credit balance. There's no per-person limit.

## What uses credits

* Balt's work: conversations and routine runs. A [routine's mode](https://docs.hire-balt.com/en/routines) decides what each run costs.
* Some services: a voice message dictated in the console, a meeting's recording, an enrichment answer.

Credits are used in this order: the monthly plan's first, reset at each renewal, then recharge credits, then bonus credits. Recharge and bonus credits never expire.

> When credits run out, Balt stops working. The **Billing** page warns you when they run low.

## The Billing and credits page

Under **Settings**, open **Billing**. Only administrators and the owner can.

| Section | What you do there |
| - | - |
| **Total credits available** | See the balance, by kind of credit |
| Plan | **Subscribe**, **Change plan**, **Cancel subscription** or **Resume subscription** |
| **Buy credits** | Add credits right away, on a monthly plan |
| **Automatic recharges** | Buy credits as soon as the balance drops below a threshold |
| **Invoices and payment method** | **Open billing portal** for invoices and the card |

Moving to a higher plan charges the difference the same day. A lower plan starts at the end of the current period, and nothing is refunded.

## Automatic recharges

Switch them on, then set **When the balance drops below** and **Automatically buy**. The saved card is charged at each recharge. They need a monthly plan.

## Follow usage

**View usage** opens the **Usage** page. Pick a **Period**, then a tab:

| **Team** | Runs and credits per person |
| **Activity** | Every run, filtered by member and type |
| **Routines** | Runs and credits per routine |

## Get free credits

Signing up gives credits for Balt's first tasks. You can also earn some by [referring other companies](https://docs.hire-balt.com/en/rewards.md).
