# Organization and members

> Roles, invitations, groups and your organization's settings.

Your organization brings together the people at your company who work with Balt. Its members share the same Balt and the same credits.

## Roles

| Role | What it can do |
| - | - |
| Owner | Created the organization and has full control. Can't be assigned by invitation. |
| Admin | Manages members, billing and integrations |
| Member | Uses Balt every day, without access to members or billing |

To change someone's role: **Settings**, **Team**, open the person, **Access** tab, **Role** field. You can't change your own role or the owner's.

## Invite colleagues

**1. Open the invitation**

**Invite members**, from the **Team** page or your profile menu, or **Invite a colleague** from the home page.

**2. Choose who to invite**

Tick people from your workspace, or type email addresses. Choose the invitees' role.

**3. Send**

Each person gets a link by email, valid for 14 days. They sign in with their Google or Microsoft account: no account to create.

Sent invitations show under **Pending invitations**, where you can **Resend** or **Revoke** them.

## Who can join the organization

| Situation | What happens |
| - | - |
| An invitation | The person joins the organization, whatever their address. |
| An address at a company not yet in Balt | It creates the company's organization. |
| An address at a company already in Balt | It waits for an administrator to accept it. Administrators see the request and choose **Approve** or **Reject**. |
| A personal address (Gmail, Outlook…) | The Balt team reviews the request. |

## Groups

A group gathers colleagues so you can pick them at once. Create one under **Team**, **Groups** tab, with **New group**.

Groups are used to [deploy a routine](https://docs.hire-balt.com/en/routines) to some people and to share an integration account. A group adds its current members, not people who join it later. Deleting a group removes nobody from the organization.

| **Chat** | **Settings** | The chat app where Balt listens and replies: one workspace per platform |
| **Privacy notice** | **Settings** | Your policy's **Web address**, shown by public spaces |

## Several organizations

If you belong to several organizations, switch between them at the top of your profile menu.
