# Security and data

> Where your data is, who can see it and how to remove access.

## Your data trains no model

Contractually, including at the model providers Balt uses.

## Where it is hosted

The database, backups, files and meeting recordings are hosted in the European Union. The [privacy policy](https://www.hire-balt.com/legal/privacy-policy) sets out where each piece of data is (section 8) and lists our subprocessors (section 7).

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and your integrations' credentials are encrypted separately.

## Who sees what

| Data | Who sees it |
| - | - |
| A channel in your chat app | Balt, only if he is invited to it |
| What Balt knows about you | You alone: your administrators and colleagues can't |
| The organization's memory | The whole organization. Only administrators edit it. |
| An integration account | Depending on its setting: **yours only**, or **you or your organization** |

## Remove access

At any time, without going through support: open the account under **Integrations**, then **Disconnect the account**. You can also choose what Balt does alone, action by action. See [What Balt does alone](https://docs.hire-balt.com/en/integrations/actions.md).

## How long it is kept

| Data | How long |
| - | - |
| Data from Slack, Teams or Discord | Deleted within 14 business days of uninstalling |
| Memory and skills | Until the contract ends, or until deletion is requested |
| Technical logs | 12 months at most |

## Certifications

Balt isn't ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certified yet. The SOC 2 Type 2 process is under way. The certifications that exist today are our host's, and they cover the infrastructure only.
